My name is Katie Tersmette, and I am a licensed and experienced counsellor with a passion for helping others. I hold a Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling from the Kelowna College of Professional Counselling, where I gained comprehensive training and expertise in a variety of therapeutic approaches.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges. My approach to counselling is rooted in empathy, compassion, and collaboration.
As I shift my focus to parent counselling, I aim to help parents find effective parenting tools to connect with and guide their children through life's challenges. I remain committed to providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with parents and believe that every parent-child relationship has unique strengths and an innate understanding of their dynamics.
I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a warm and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to share their concerns and explore their emotions. I value open communication and collaboration, actively involving clients in the therapeutic process to ensure that their goals and desires are at the forefront of our work together.
In addition to my professional training and experience, I bring a deep sense of empathy and understanding to my practice. Having faced my own personal challenges, I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to seek help and make positive changes. I am committed to providing a space that is free from judgment and stigma, where individuals can feel seen, heard, and supported.
